CASP Webinar: Real World Evidence

Its usefulness in evidence-based decision making

The volume and diversity of real-world data have been growing rapidly with advances in technology and the increasing use of electronic records in health systems. In this webinar, we will cover the various sources of real-world data, and which research study designs can generate real-world evidence because there is increasing interest in the potential to convert real-world data into real-world evidence to inform healthcare decision-making.

Given this interest, it is important to be aware not only of the benefits of using real-world evidence, but also its limitations and any concerns we might have about the quality of real-world data/evidence. As such, we need to undertake careful analysis and interpretation of real-world data and evidence before we can use it to support decision-making. We will also look in some detail at one of the tools that can be used to appraise real-world data/evidence.
